WHO WE ARE

An Effort to Bridge Gaps in HealthCare

I-SHARE Foundation is a Pune-based not-for-profit organization formed with a mission to Innovate Solutions for Healthcare Access Research and Education. It was formed by three friends - Dr. Nikhil Phadke (Molecular Geneticist), Dr. Pranjali Gadgil (Breast Cancer Surgeon) and Dr. Meetali Kolhatkar Bidaye (Nephrologist) - to address gaps in the healthcare system in the areas of (i) access to healthcare and allied resources for patients and their families, (ii) targeted translational research in healthcare, and (iii) education and awareness about healthcare and recent advances for doctors, patients, students, policy-makers and the general public, and the breaking down of silos between areas in medicine, science and technology to enable a truly cross-disciplinary approach to healthcare.

WHAT WE DO

HEALTHCARE ACCESS

We partner with healthcare providers, institutions and industry to make preventive health, diagnostic care, and medical treatment  accessible to those that need it most.

RESEARCH

We enable collaborations between educational institutions, scientists and funding agencies to facilitate high quality research. Our goals is to better understand health concerns relevant to our population and develop affordable diagnostic and treatment solutions for the same.

EDUCATION

We develop educational content, develop educational programs and conduct events to promote healthcare education at all levels- the community, healthcare providers, and students of science and healthcare.

Cervical Cancer and HPV Project

Cervical Cancer is one of the most common causes of cancer in Indian women. It is believed that in India there are 132,000 new cases every year, 74,000 women deaths every year with a women dying  every 8 minutes from this disease.

The majority of cervical cancers are caused by the HPV virus. In India access to HPV testing in needy populations is limited by cost of testing.

I-SHARE Foundation has received a CSR grant from Gharda- Chemicals to enable free HPV testing for cervical cancer screening in populations that need it.

I-SHARE has partnered with NGO Prayas to develop a comprehensive screening program.

So far we have tested and screened over 500 women in and around Pune city, We are soliciting donations and CSR collaborations to further expand the scope of this project and help save more lives.

Young Breast Cancer- Fundraiser

I-SHARE Foundation has started a " Young women's Breast Cancer Fund" to aid young women facing a diagnosis of breast cancer,

Breast cancer can affect women in their 20s and 30s  and even when women are pregnant and breast feeding. Our goal is to support women under 40 years especially those raising young children, in paying for their breast cancer treatment.

For a young couple, a diagnosis of breast cancer causes a sudden strain in finances. From an oncological perspective, breast cancer in young women tends to be aggressive and presents at advanced stages. Treatment planning in young breast cancer is complex with considerations for genetic testing, fertility preservation, body image preservation with reconstruction, safe pregnancy and a multitude of other concerns.

Our goal is to help at least 50 women every year to the individual extent of Rs 30,000. Patients will be required to fill an application form, their eligibility will be verified with the treating hospital and payments will be disbursed directly to the treating hospital to ensure appropriate utilisation of the funds towards their breast cancer care.
Kindly support our cause by donating and sharing our fundraiser.

Subsidised Diagnostics Program

One of I-SHARE Foundation’s areas of interest is in making effective advanced diagnostics such as molecular genetic tests, affordable to all sections of society in a sustainable manner.

We have started a program to subsidise these advance diagnostic tests for patients that need financial aid. We have partnered with Genepath Dx to provide these tests at a minimal cost to the patient, We have received a  CSR grant from Gharda Chemicals to enable this subsidy.

We are collaborating with physicians and hospitals to carry the impact of this project in large numbers to the patients who need it most.
